As Data Engineer I did the following:

  • Managed infrastructure with AWS Cloudformation;
  • Developed data pipelines in Apache Airflow, API Gateway, Kinesis, AWS Glue;
  • Designed Data Warehouse and ETL processes;
  • Participated in large scale integration of new data into existing Data Warehouse;
  • Managed AWS Redshift (scaling, Workload Management);
  • Refactored ETL SQL queries to reduce runtime from 5 hours to 2 hours;
  • Participated in the interview process for positions of Data Engineer/DevOps/DWH Engineer;

As part of its team I did the following:

  • Implemented cubes based on Dimensional modelling technique;
  • Maintained and implemented ETL processes in SQL (PostgreSQL) and Python;
  • Implemented new ETL processes in Apache Airflow;
  • Wrote data processing tasks in Apache Spark (PySpark);
  • Worked with HDFS and Hive;

As part of its team I did the following:

  • Upgraded several Ruby on Rails application from 3.* to 4.*;
  • Developed a Ruby on Rails application for customer support to track customer satisfaction;
  • Wrote specs (with RSpec, Capybara, Selenium, and Poltergeist) for a new product of the company;
  • Converted views in the core application from HAML to ERB;
  • Migrated Ruby on Rails applications from MySQL to Postgresql;
  • Built charts with D3.js;
  • Acquired remote working experience.

Master’s program Business Information Systems combines knowledge from fields of Computer Science, Management, and Industrial Engineering sciences to train professionals, who are capable of integrating complex information systems into a business environment.

The program focused on modelling of business processes with such tools as CPN Tools and Rockwell Arena. Also, the program included studies of technologies behind data on the Internet (technologies behind search engines, machine learning algorithms), and research on the role of IT in enterprises.
